2 reinforced blocks gear fork set MD RACING for Vespa Smallframe
Description
Kit of 2 MD racing reinforced Smallframe gear selector pads.
Made of high resistance steel and relative carburizing treatment.
In this way you have a tough and resistant body with a hard anti-wear surface.
Not to be confused with tempered which also has a hard surface but the characteristic temperature range of tempering could make the stem fragile and break under stress. Case hardening is a chemical hardening treatment characteristic of gears and does not alter the internal properties of the metal.
The MD racing pad has a stem of 4.00 mm -0 +0.02 cents, in order to compensate for the enlargement of the hole on the Piaggio fork and reduce the lateral play, improving the hold in position of the preselector.
Another important change compared to the original skate is the increase in the height of the base which from the original 4.90mm has been brought to 5.5mm for a greater grip surface on the crosspiece and less wear over time.
