Come suggerisce il nome, questa espansione è stata creata per l'utilizzo su ogni tipo di telaio Vespa Smallframe senza bisogno di modifiche.
Durante la creazione della Unisex l'attenzione è stata focalizzata principalmente sulla coppia e questo è dimostrato dalla potenza espressa già a 700rpm con il cilindro Egig170 ed intorno ai 7500 con cilindri di cilindrata inferiore. Inoltre esprime una coppia costante anche alle velocità più basse, rendendo agevole il settaggio della carburazione e rendendolo relativamente insensibile alle condizioni meteorologiche e all'altitudine.3
